Cycling day trip from Burgas to Sredets

This ride takes you from the lively seaside city of Burgas down to Sredets, winding through 67 km of peaceful Bulgarian countryside. You’ll start off at the Black Sea coast, known for Burgas’ relaxed vibe and seaside parks, then quickly leave the bustle behind as you pedal inland. The route is mostly on quiet roads (about 57%), so you’ll get to really soak up the rural landscape—think rolling fields, quaint villages, and plenty of fresh air.

There’s a bit of climbing involved (about 780 meters in ascent), but none of it’s too steep and the elevation tops out at just under 170 meters. The surface can get a bit rough, with a large chunk missing from formal pavement, so a sturdy bike is a good idea.
