Cycling day trip from Skopje to Dolno Količani

This scenic ride starts in North Macedonia’s vibrant capital, Skopje—a city brimming with history, riverside cafes, and a lively old bazaar. From the city centre, you’ll head south, gradually leaving the bustle behind as you pedal into the peaceful countryside.

The route covers about 25.6 km and mixes city cycleways with quiet rural roads and the occasional bumpy path. A good chunk of the ride is over partially paved or unpaved surfaces—so wider tires are highly recommended! Expect a decent climb as you crest nearly 442 meters in ascent; the views over the rolling hills make it all worthwhile.

You’ll finish in Dolno Količani, a small, laid-back village just southeast of Skopje, nestled on the edge of the Vardar valley.
