This cycling route takes you from the bustling streets of Kaohsiung City all the way down to the relaxed, sun-soaked town of Hengchun at the southern tip of Taiwan—a true adventure across nearly 128 kilometers! You’ll roll out from Taiwan’s lively second city, home to artistic piers, night markets, and harbor views, before trading skyscrapers for lush landscapes.

The route includes a bit of everything: smooth asphalt city roads at the start, stretches along quiet countryside roads, and a few busier patches. Watch out for a decent amount of climbing with over 1,400 meters in elevation gain—the biggest push takes you up towards around 425 meters, so pace yourself and savor the mountain views!

As you get closer to Hengchun, the air gets saltier and the scenery shifts to rural fields and glimpses of the Pacific. Hengchun is famous for its historic city gates, laid-back surf culture, and as the gateway to Kenting National Park. Whether you’re here for the beaches or the old-town charm, you’ll definitely want to grab a cold drink and stretch out at the finish.
