This relaxed cycling route takes you from the charming town of Lier to the vibrant city of Antwerp. Starting in Lier, known for its medieval beguinage and picturesque canals, you’ll enjoy a mostly flat ride—just a small ascent and descent, but nothing that’ll get your heart racing (except maybe the beautiful scenery).

The path is super bike-friendly: about 70% of the way is on dedicated cycleways and over 95% is paved, mostly with smooth asphalt (with a little taste of Belgium’s paving stones for character). You’ll roll through peaceful countryside and quiet suburbs, making this a great escape from city bustle, with only brief stretches on regular roads.

Once you arrive in Antwerp, treat yourself to some local treats or check out the impressive train station and the Cathedral of Our Lady. It’s a lovely way to connect two of Flanders’ most interesting cities by pedal power!
