This ride takes you from Obukhovo, a quiet residential area on the southeastern edge of St. Petersburg, over to Kupchino—one of the city's largest and most lively districts. It's a little under 11 km, mostly on flat ground with a pretty chill ascent and descent (you'll barely notice the hills).

The route is almost entirely on smooth asphalt, making it a breeze even for city bikes. You'll start on smaller access roads and quiet streets, dodging most of the hectic traffic you'd find closer to the city center. Kupchino is famous in its own right—once stereotyped as a “sleeping district,” it's now full of life with cafes, parks, and its famously grand metro station.
