Manchester to Ashton Escape

This is my favourite 'agh im stuck at work late and really need a ride and to see some nature' out and back.

There are some nice hills and its relatively quiet, not too much traffic considering proximity to the city centre.

The surface around the last bit of the route on Alt Hill Lane can be fairly rough and there are some cobbles. The rest is good surface.

There are some steep hills nearby which could be added onto the route - e.g. at Lees Rd go straight across and up the lane thats a dead end. Its quite steep!

Its also a good route to get out to the Ashton circuit.
