    Krepost' Yam Крепость Ям The Yam fortress was founded by the Novgorod boyar Ivan Fedorovich in 1384, and finally dismantled in 1781 by order of Catherine II. On the other side of the road, the remains of one of the bastions and a fragment of the wall are preserved, but their inspection is difficult, since they are located on the slope of the Luga River. The Poklonniy Cross is installed in the same place.
