Vue d'ensemble

Ă€ propos de cette collection

A coast-to-countryside link from the Atlantic at Les Sables-d'Olonne to the bocage around Bressuire. Expect roughly 145 km of easygoing riding, mostly on quiet roads and signed cycleways, with regular stretches of gravel and farm tracks in between. It’s pretty flat to gently rolling—more hedgerows and river valleys than big climbs.

Best on a touring or gravel bike (32–40 mm tires feel right). Road bikes can do it with care on the rough bits. Wayfinding is straightforward, and there are plenty of villages for coffee, boulangeries, and water along the way.

Highlights: wide beaches and marina vibes at the start, shady lanes inland, and a medieval castle crowning the finish in Bressuire. A few short links on busier roads pop up—nothing long, but lights help.

Easy to turn into a weekend: ride south-to-north with a sea dip at the start, overnight in a market town en route, then roll into Bressuire for the train home.
