Excursion à vélo d’une journée de Ekaterinbourg à Verkhniaïa Pychma

This ride takes you from the lively heart of Yekaterinburg up to the charming town of Verkhnyaya Pyshma, covering just over 40 kilometers. Starting out from Yekaterinburg—a city famous for its mix of modern culture and deep history—you’ll make your way northwest, swapping city streets for a mix of quiet roads and countryside tracks.

The route is a blend, with some nice stretches of paved and asphalt surfaces but also plenty of unpaved and gravel paths, so a bike with wider tires will come in handy for comfort. You'll find yourself meandering through quieter backroads (about 40% of the way) with just a few busier sections sprinkled in, making this perfect for a laid-back ride away from traffic.

There are a couple of rolling hills, but nothing too daunting—just enough to keep things interesting! When you reach Verkhnyaya Pyshma, be sure to check out the famous Ural Mining and Metallurgy Museum. This town has deep roots in Russia’s metal industry and plenty of stories to tell.
