Excursion à vélo d’une journée de Banqiao à Daxi

Here’s a fun ride from Banqiao District down to the charming town of Daxi! Starting off in the vibrant urban heart of New Taipei City, you’ll pedal mostly along cycleways (about 70% of the way), which means you can relax and enjoy the scenery without too much traffic stress. The route is a touch over 42 kilometers and gradually climbs a manageable 260 meters, so it’s an achievable challenge for most riders.

On the way, expect a mix of urban and riverside views, with a few peaceful rural stretches as you get closer to Daxi. Surfaces are mostly undetermined, but you’ll hit some paved and asphalt segments to keep things smooth. Daxi itself is well-known for its lovingly-preserved old street, famous tofu, and beautiful historic bridges—definitely worth a post-ride wander. Bring some snacks and water; there are places to refuel, but most of this route is about soaking up the changing landscapes between city bustle and old-town charm!
