Ready for a challenge along Taiwan’s stunning northeast coast? This route takes you from Yilan, famous for its lush rice fields and hot springs, up to Keelung, a bustling port city with legendary night markets and rocky seascapes.

Covering just under 94 km, this ride isn’t just about the kilometers—over 2,200 meters of climbing await, so prep your legs! Most of the ride meanders along access and quiet roads, making for peaceful stretches amid tea plantations and mountain views. While you’ll mostly be rolling on mixed surfaces (some short stretches may get a little rough—gravel or unfinished spots), there’s also a nice share of asphalt and even a few bits of dedicated cycleway.

You’ll reach a max elevation of about 530 meters, but the gorgeous vistas at the top are worth every pedal stroke. Arriving in Keelung, treat yourself to fresh seafood at Miaokou Night Market—you’ve earned it! This adventure blends hills, coast, and culture—a ride to remember for sure.
