The journey’s about 37.6 km, packing some punchy climbs (over 660 meters of ascent) and rewarding descents, peaking around 397 meters. You’ll pedal through a nice mix of purpose-built cycleways (around 43% of the route), quiet backroads, and some more rustic paths—so be ready for a few unpaved surprises along the way.

Starting in Shatin, you’ll have the serene Shing Mun River and even the mega New Town Plaza nearby, before climbing up and over greener New Territories scenery. As you approach Yuen Long Kau Hui, the landscape opens up with village vibes, historic temples, and the famed local eateries. Keep an eye out for rural customs and old markets—it’s a charming way to end your adventure.
