Excursion à vélo d’une journée de Yeoju à Mungyeong

This 116 km ride takes you from Yeoju to Mungyeong through a scenic, increasingly mountainous part of inland Korea. Yeoju, known for its ceramics and riverside setting along the Namhan River, makes a relaxed starting point. From there, the route gradually leaves the flatter river country and heads toward the hills around Mungyeong.

Expect a challenging day in the saddle: there’s around 2,180 m of climbing, with the highest point reaching about 570 m. The route is predominantly paved, with a good mix of cycleways, quiet roads, and regular roads—though a few unpaved or unclassified sections may require extra care.

Mungyeong is a historic mountain town and a gateway to the famous Mungyeong Saejae mountain pass, so it’s a rewarding destination after the long climb. Plan for plenty of food and water stops, and allow a full day if you want to enjoy the scenery rather than race to the finish.
