Sortie rapide à vélo de Lisbonne à Algés

This ride takes you from the heart of Lisbon to Algés, hugging the northern edge of the Tagus River for much of the journey. Starting in Lisbon’s vibrant center, you’ll be swept up in the buzz of historic streets before joining quiet roads and dedicated cycleways heading west. Expect some ups and downs—over 400 meters of ascent means your legs will get a bit of a workout, but nothing too wild.

The route weaves through riverside neighborhoods and parks (keep an eye out for fantastic river views!), and with the surface mostly paved or asphalt, it’s smooth sailing for most bikes. About half the way is on dedicated biking infrastructure, so you’ll mostly be away from busy traffic. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a golden sunset over the Belém area, passing by iconic sights like the Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower—not to mention plenty of cafés for a quick pastel de nata!

You’ll roll into Algés, a laid-back suburb known for its waterfront promenade and leafy parks—the perfect spot to chill after the ride. Great for a leisurely exploration or a scenic commute!
