A short, city-core spin from the City of Westminster to the West End, packed with sights and smooth riding. Roll out from Westminster—home to Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace—then thread north on protected lanes and quiet backstreets. It’s about 6.2 km with only a gentle 45 m of climbing, and almost entirely on paved asphalt. Around two-thirds of the way is on dedicated cycleways, with just a brief taste of busier roads near the big junctions.

Expect plenty of traffic lights and people, so take it easy through the St James’s/Trafalgar Square area. Lock-up spots and coffee stops abound as you glide into the West End—London’s entertainment heart, famous for its theatres, Soho buzz, Covent Garden’s piazza and the shopping arteries of Oxford and Regent Streets.

Tip: watch for bus lanes and taxi ranks near the theatres, and mind pedestrian zones around Covent Garden and Soho at peak times. It’s a mellow, sightseeing-friendly ride that swaps hills for landmarks.
