Excursion à vélo d’une journée de Mangotsfield à Almondsbury

This scenic ride starts in Mangotsfield, a suburban village to the northeast of Bristol, popular for its easy access to the Bristol & Bath Railway Path. You’ll head north through peaceful green corridors and local residential areas, making the most of the generous cycleways and quiet roads—perfect for a relaxed ride.

The route takes you out of the Bristol suburbs, gradually rising and falling with gentle hills (nothing too brutal, don’t worry!) while you weave over mostly smooth asphalt. About three-quarters of the ride is paved, so it’s suitable for most bikes. Along the way, you’ll skirt the edge of the countryside, passing fields and small woodlands, before rolling into Almondsbury.

Almondsbury is a pretty South Gloucestershire village, known for its lovely views over the Severn Estuary and its historic church, which dates from the 12th century. Pop into a local café at your ride’s end or take a breather and enjoy the scenery. All in all, it’s a perfect day out for exploring Bristol’s lush outskirts.
