This scenic bike ride takes you from the vibrant southern city of Maastricht to Roermond in central Limburg—two gems along the Meuse River. You'll roll out of Maastricht, famous for its lively squares and medieval history, and set off on a smooth journey with very little climbing. The route is almost entirely paved, sticking mostly to cycleways and quiet access roads, so it’s a relaxed ride ideal for soaking up the Dutch countryside.

You'll pass through charming Limburg villages and plenty of green fields, with the scenery gently changing as you approach Roermond—a city known for its lakes, shopping outlets, and beautiful cathedral. With just under 60 km to cover, this is a solid day trip, and the predominantly flat terrain means you can take it easy and really enjoy the ride. Don’t forget to reward yourself with some coffee and ‘vlaai’ (Limburg’s famous pie) at either end!
