Ready for a relaxed North Holland ride? This route takes you from the peaceful village of Harenkarspel to the lively small city of Schagen. It’s just under 12 km, so perfect for a leisurely morning or afternoon cycle. Nearly two-thirds of the way is on dedicated cycle paths, with little traffic to worry about, and most of the roads are either paved or smooth asphalt, though there are a few sections with paving stones.

You’ll cruise through classic Dutch countryside—think wide-open fields, canals, and maybe the odd windmill—before rolling into Schagen. Schagen has a rich history, with its impressive 15th-century church and the restored Slot Schagen castle right in the town center. The town’s market square is a great spot to grab a coffee or a tasty broodje after your ride.

It’s a very flat ride (you’ll barely notice the 6 meters of ascent!), making it suitable for cyclists of all levels. Don’t forget to ring your bell and enjoy the scenery!
