Excursion à vélo d’une journée de Schärding à Atzesberg

This cycling route takes you from the charming baroque town of Schärding all the way to the village of Atzesberg, covering about 72.5 km. Schärding, set right on the Inn river, charms with its colorful houses and historic main square—perfect for a pre-ride coffee.

The ride itself is a mixed adventure, hugging mostly quiet country roads (over half your journey!) with some fun on paths and a bit of gravel here and there. Expect some real leg-burners too: you’ll climb nearly 1,450 meters overall, weaving through pretty Upper Austrian countryside, with views that make the effort worthwhile. Make sure your bike can handle a patch of gravel, but most of the route is paved or smooth asphalt.

Once you reach Atzesberg, you’ll be greeted by a peaceful rural village, surrounded by forested hills—ideal for winding down after a rewarding ride. Don’t forget to bring snacks and your camera!
