Starting in Sankt Wolfgang, you’ll pedal away from the crystal-clear waters of Lake Wolfgang and the charming streets lined with colorful, traditional buildings. The route quickly rewards you with some beautiful lake and mountain views, and you’ll gain a bit of altitude (just over 200 meters) as you ride along mostly quiet roads and dedicated cycleways—so there’s hardly any traffic.

Most of the surface is smooth asphalt, so it’s perfect for road bikes or hybrids. After a pleasant descent, you’ll roll into Bad Ischl, famous for its Kaiser Villa (once the summer retreat of Emperor Franz Joseph) and relaxing thermal spas.
