This route takes you from the lively city of Klagenfurt, famous for its beautiful old town and proximity to Lake Wörthersee, to the charming town of Villach, known for its thermal baths and bustling town center. You’ll cover about 40 km, mostly on quiet roads and dedicated cycleways—so you can enjoy the rolling landscape without much traffic stress.

Expect a bit of a workout with roughly 300 meters of climbing, but the gradients are gentle and won’t spoil the fun. The surface is smooth for most of the way (mainly asphalt and paved roads), making it ideal for road and touring bikes.

Along the way, you’ll ride through picturesque Austrian countryside, past lakes, small villages, and green, hilly vistas. Once you reach Villach, reward yourself with a visit to the historic Hauptplatz or take a relaxing stroll along the Drau river.
