Excursion à vélo d’une journée de Paderborn à Lippstadt

This scenic ride takes you from the lively university city of Paderborn to the charming town of Lippstadt—perfect for a relaxed day out on the bike. You’ll cruise along around 40 km of mostly paved paths (with over 90% being smooth surfaces), so pretty much any bike will do the trick. The route is mostly flat, with just enough gentle ascents and descents to keep things interesting, but nothing too taxing.

Paderborn is well-known for its impressive 13th-century cathedral and its bubbling springs, which feed into the Pader—the shortest river in Germany! As you pedal west, you’ll ride along quiet rural paths and small village lanes, largely avoiding busy roads. You’ll pass through peaceful farmland and perhaps catch glimpses of classic Westphalian countryside.

After about 2–3 hours (with stops), you’ll roll into Lippstadt, a lovely spot filled with waterways and parks, often called the “Venice of Westphalia.” Grab a coffee in the old town before heading back or exploring further!

Tip: Bring a camera—the route is super photogenic, especially on sunny days.
