A relaxed Brandenburg classic: about 61 km from riverside Oranienburg to lakeside Rheinsberg. Roll out from Oranienburg—home to the baroque Oranienburg Palace on the Havel—and ease into a mix of wooded paths and quiet country roads. The route is mostly flat with gentle ripples (around 270 m total ascent), so it’s a smooth half‑day ride for most.

Surfaces are friendly: roughly 4/5 paved, with stretches of asphalt, some paving stones, and a few short unpaved bits—touring or gravel tires are perfect. Expect lots of bike paths and low‑traffic lanes, plus shady pine forests and canal-side sections typical of Oberhavel and the Stechlin‑Ruppiner Land.

You’ll finish in charming Rheinsberg, set amid a necklace of clear lakes. Don’t miss Schloss Rheinsberg on the Grienericksee—once a residence of the young Frederick the Great and later immortalized by Kurt Tucholsky. It’s a great spot for a post‑ride swim or coffee by the water.
