This relaxed coastal route takes you from the charming harbor village of Neuharlingersiel to the laid-back North Sea resort of Schillig. The ride is almost totally flat—you're cycling just a few meters above sea level the whole way—which means it's perfect for easy pedaling as you follow the dike and take in endless salty breezes.

Most of the 22 km route rolls along quiet access roads and farm tracks, surrounded by green meadows, sheep, and those classic East Frisian wide-open skies. You'll spot windmills, grazing cows, and, depending on the tides, the spectacular mudflats (Wattenmeer). The surface is nearly all concrete or smooth asphalt, so you won't need a mountain bike.

Neuharlingersiel's picturesque fishing harbor makes a perfect starting point. In summer, you might see shrimp boats unloading their catch or wave to folks heading for Spiekeroog by ferry.
