Excursion à vélo d’une journée de Kulmbach à Bamberg

This scenic ride takes you from Kulmbach, known for its impressive Plassenburg Castle and rich brewing tradition, down to the historic city of Bamberg—a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its medieval Old Town and smoked beer.

The route covers about 84 kilometers, mostly on smooth paved and asphalt surfaces, making it pretty comfortable for most riders. You'll roll through the beautiful Franconian countryside, past fields, forests, and charming villages. The ride starts with a gentle climb out of Kulmbach, but you’ll get to coast down to Bamberg with more descent than ascent overall.

About a third of the journey runs along quiet roads and bike paths, so you’ll be able to relax and enjoy the scenery. With minimal busy roads and mostly well-maintained paths, this is a fantastic day ride for anyone who wants to explore Northern Bavaria’s gems at a leisurely pace.
