Cycling from Koblenz to Lahnstein

This ride is a lovely way to connect two scenic Rhine Valley towns! Starting in Koblenz, you’ll pedal out from a city famous for its fascinating history at the Deutsches Eck, where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. The route is just under 14 km—perfect for a half-day adventure—and mostly paved, so pretty comfortable for most types of bikes.

You’ll climb a bit (about 180 meters ascent), so expect a gentle workout, but nothing too harsh. Much of the ride follows peaceful paths and quiet roads, letting you soak in river views and lush hillsides as you go. There’s a short section on gravel or paving stones—just enough to add a touch of variety.

The journey wraps up in delightful Lahnstein, perched at the meeting point of the Lahn and Rhine rivers and home to the medieval Lahneck Castle. It’s a wonderful spot to relax, grab a coffee, or dip your toes in the water before heading home!
