This ride from Toblach (Dobbiaco) to Cortina d’Ampezzo is a truly alpine experience, perfect for adventurous cyclists looking to soak up the majestic Dolomites. Starting in Toblach, a lovely town known as the “Gateway to the Dolomites,” you’ll pedal south through stunning mountain scenery. The route is almost 48 km with over 1,200 meters of climbing, so be ready for some serious ups and downs—your highest point is right around 2,000 meters above sea level!

A lot of the route sticks to quiet cycleways and gravel tracks, so a gravel or mountain bike will serve you well. About half is unpaved, winding through lush forests, past shimmering alpine streams, and into wide-open valleys. The views are nothing short of epic all day long.

You'll finish in Cortina d’Ampezzo, a chic resort town that hosted the 1956 Winter Olympics and will co-host in 2026. It’s famous for dramatic peaks, stylish cafés, and a seriously Italian après-ride vibe. A fantastic day out in the heart of the Dolomites!
