Starting at nearly 1,200 meters above sea level in Bormio—famous for its thermal baths and its role as a base for legendary cycling climbs like the Stelvio Pass—you’ll enjoy mostly paved roads (more than 89% asphalt) with a few short gravel sections to keep things interesting.

The ride is about 40 km, but don’t worry about huge climbs—this one’s a real downhill treat, dropping over 1,000 meters along the way! You’ll roll through a mix of cycleways and quiet roads, soaking up Alpine views as you go. The route is mostly gentle, passing by small villages, pastures, and chestnut woods as you head south.

Tirano is your destination, set in the Valtellina valley. It’s best known as the Italian terminus of the UNESCO-listed Bernina Express railway, and its lively piazzas are perfect for a post-ride gelato.
