Excursion à vélo d’une journée de Kobarid à Bovec

Looking for an epic ride through Slovenia’s wild Soča Valley? This route takes you from the historic town of Kobarid all the way to the outdoor mecca of Bovec—a must for adventure lovers. You’ll cover about 23 km, climbing over 800 meters with some decent descents (so save your legs for the uphills!).

Leaving Kobarid—famous for its WWI history and the best local cheese—you’ll tackle a mix of roads: roughly half asphalt and half paved or gravel. It’s a satisfying blend of village lanes, woodland tracks, and quieter roads, with just a sprinkle of busier stretches near the start and finish. The max elevation isn’t crazy high (just under 500m), but the climbing will definitely get your heart (and camera) racing, especially with the wild mountain and river views.
