Excursion à vélo d’une journée de Bohinjska Bistrica à Ljubljana

This scenic cycling route takes you from the picturesque town of Bohinjska Bistrica, nestled at the edge of Triglav National Park, all the way to Slovenia’s vibrant capital, Ljubljana. Covering just over 90 km, you’ll enjoy a mix of quiet country roads, some cycleways, and the occasional stretch of gravel (but mostly smooth riding!).

The journey kicks off in Bohinjska Bistrica, a gateway to stunning alpine lakes and lush valleys. From there, you’ll pedal through rolling foothills and charming Slovenian villages, with a fair bit of climbing—over 1,600 meters of ascent—before you’re rewarded with sweeping descents as you approach Ljubljana.

Most of your ride is on peaceful, low-traffic roads, so you can soak up the scenery without too many interruptions. Once you arrive in Ljubljana, treat yourself to some coffee by the Ljubljanica river or a stroll through the historic old town—this green capital is famous for its friendly vibe and lively atmosphere.
