Excursion à vélo d’une journée de Novoul’yanovsk à Oulianovsk

This ride takes you from Novoul'yanovsk to Ulyanovsk—about 31 km through a quiet corner of the Ulyanovsk region. You’ll start in Novoul'yanovsk, a small town known for its industrial roots along the scenic Volga River, before making your way north toward the regional hub of Ulyanovsk, birthplace of Lenin and a city full of historical landmarks.

The route gently rolls with a few climbs (about 400 meters of ascent in total), mostly sticking to easygoing access and quiet roads. Roughly half the surfaces aren’t paved, so expect a mix of asphalt, gravel, and some true “off the beaten path” moments. (A gravel or sturdy hybrid bike is perfect for this.) You’ll pedal past peaceful countryside and glimpses of river views, with little busy traffic to worry about.

Your finish line is Ulyanovsk, perched atop the banks of the Volga and famous for its wide boulevards and museums. Stop for a coffee by the river and soak in the history—it's a fitting reward for the ride!
