Bikepacking de Braşov à Sighișoara

Ready for a Romanian adventure on two wheels? This route takes you from the heart of Brașov to the enchanting, UNESCO-listed town of Sighișoara. Starting in Brașov, a medieval city framed by forested mountains (and famous for its Black Church and vibrant central square), you’ll soon find yourself pedaling out into the wilds of Transylvania.

It's a long day in the saddle—over 240 km—with a hearty 4,000+ meters of climbing. Most of your journey winds along tracks and quiet backroads, letting you soak up rolling hills, villages lost in time, and endless fields. The surfaces are a mixed bag: only about 21% fully paved, lots of rustic gravel and dirt, so a sturdy touring or gravel bike is a must. You’ll top out at almost 1,000 meters elevation before descending towards colorful Sighișoara—birthplace of Vlad the Impaler (the real Dracula!).

Expect some remote stretches, and bring supplies—this is Romanian countryside at its finest. The effort pays off when you roll into Sighișoara’s storybook old town, cobbled streets, and medieval towers. An unforgettable ride through Central Europe's heart!
