This fun ride starts off in the heart of Sofia, Bulgaria’s lively capital, and takes you northeast to the small town of Buhovo, nestled in the hills just outside the city. You’ll cover just under 36 km, with the route winding gradually uphill—expect almost 280 meters of climbing, but the gradients are never too tough.

Leaving Sofia's urban energy behind, you’ll be mostly on quieter roads and tracks—about a quarter of the route is paved, but keep in mind a lot of the surfaces aren’t specified, so it’s best to bring a bike that handles mixed conditions well. Enjoy views of rural landscapes and get a taste of the region’s peaceful countryside as you roll closer to Buhovo.
