Excursion à vélo d’une journée de Lo Prado à Peñaflor

Here’s a nice ride that takes you from the urban bustle of Lo Prado out to the more laid-back town of Peñaflor. Starting in Lo Prado, a lively commune in western Santiago known for its local markets and residential vibe, you’ll roll southwest for about 48 km. Most of the route is paved (so standard road bikes will do fine!), with a good mix of quiet roads and cycleways, and only a tiny bit of unpaved sections.

You’ll climb just 88 meters, but coast down about 200 meters, so it’s a gentle descent overall—perfect for an easy day out. As you leave Santiago, you’ll pass through suburban neighborhoods before hitting some more rural scenery toward Peñaflor, a town famous for its leafy plazas and relaxed pace. If you’ve got time, check out Parque El Trapiche at your destination—a great spot to relax or have a snack by the lagoon. All in all, it’s a scenic and mostly chill ride linking the city to the countryside!
