Japanese garden The Japanese garden in Kadriorg park was opened on 31 July 2011. Masao Sone, designer of the garden, comes from Kyoto and learned landscaping in Tokyo as well as from his father who is a gardener. The north-east pond of Kadriorg and its buried limestone slope, boulders, large trees, pond and waterfall were a brilliant source of inspiration. A garden is like any living organism – it develops and changes in time and you will always find a reason to come back here!

MAARJAMÄE meorial During the 60s and 70s a drandiose, sprawling World War II memorial was created in virtually every soviet city. The rest of the complex, with its avenues cut into the grassy hillside, amphitheater, and concrete iron figures, was created in 1975 as a memorial to the Soviet soldiers killed in the 1941. The site was orifinally a cemetary for German war casualities, and a memorial to them.

TV-Tower The Tallinn TV Tower is a free-standing structure with an observation deck, built to provide better telecommunication services for the 1980 Moscow Summer Olympics regatta event. Just before midnight, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Estonia reaches a decision to declare Estonia no longer a part of the USSR and once more an independent nation. Early in the morning of 21 August, Soviet assault troops attempted to seize the TV Tower. People from all over Estonia came out to defend the tower. A handful of armed Estonian defenders barricaded themselves into the rooms at the top.

The Devil's cave there is a small but significant cave on the backside of Viimsi. It is a manmade cave that is carved into the side of the cliff in Viimis. It was used for defense purposes in the Great Northen War and was problaby carved in the beginning of 1700s. It used to be around 50 meters deep, but its little bit collapsed.

Viimsi manor complex Viimsi Manor was founded in 1471, when Pirita Convent purchased the village from the Livonian Order and founded a manor there. In 1569, the manor became the property of the Swedish state. Right now there is a hotel and Estonian War museum.

Pirita Olimpic complex In 1980 Moscow hosted Summer Olympic Games. Tallinn and Pirita was to host the yachting events. Soviet authorities built the entire coastal Pirita hihway, the TV tower, an a extensive beach house and the Olympic Yachting Centre for the occasion. Now this house is Pirita TOP SPA hotel.

RUSSALKA Russalka is a memorial monument about the sinking of the russalka warship called Russalka (mermaid). The monument depicts an angel holding an Orthodox cross towards the assumed direction of the shipwreck. The wreck of Russalka herself remained lost for 110 years until July 2003, when she was rediscovered in the gulf of Finland, 25 kilometers south of Helsinki.
