Tbilisi - David Gareji - Udabno

Bicycle route cycled on our bicycle holiday through Georgia in 2016 (with luggage). This route runs over mostly quiet roads. On the part near Rustavi there are a lot of derelict factories and this part is interesting but not pretty, to say the least. The tarmac is very old. After turning left onto the dirt road just before Mzaneti, the landscape becomes very pretty and quiet. We went straight on just before the border, but it is very steep. Consider the small detour to the right. David Gareji is very beatiful and certainly worth spending a few hours there (walk to the caves, view over Azerbaidjan). Udabno is partly abandoned but there were 2 places to stay the night.
