This ride takes you from the bustling heart of Sofia—the vibrant capital of Bulgaria—down south to the mountain town of Samokov, famed for its proximity to the stunning Rila Mountains and the ski slopes of Borovets. You'll cover just over 73 km, with a hefty climb (over 1500 meters ascent!), mostly on quiet, paved roads, but also with a healthy dose of rougher, mixed-ground tracks (about 13% unpaved). So, be ready for a bit of adventure and maybe bring a bike with wider tires.

The route starts at Sofia’s lively city centre before quickly trading urban life for the lush landscape of the surrounding hills.
