This bike route takes you from the elegant hills of Budapest’s 12th district (XII. kerület) down to the lively neighborhoods of Újbuda. Starting up in the leafy heights—home to swanky villas, long-established parks like Normafa, and epic city views—you’ll cruise mostly on paved and asphalt surfaces. As you descend (yup, you’ll notice a nice downhill!), the hills roll away and you’ll transition into the buzzing, youthful vibe of Újbuda.

Most of your ride follows dedicated cycleways and quiet backroads, so it’s great for a chill afternoon spin or a relaxed commute. Expect a smidge of paving stones and a few spots where the surface is less than perfect, but nothing too wild. Újbuda, on the Buda side of the Danube, is known for its university life, cool cafés, and the urban greenspace of Feneketlen-tó (“Bottomless Lake”).
