Begin your ride in the small town of Windermere, Lake District. The route follows the Lake District Way, with the option to cycle around ten kilometres back towards Windermere. The route is mostly flat, with some rolling sections around half way along the route. After a short flat stretch, the route begins to climb, with a maximum elevation of around twelve metres.

After roughly a hundred metres of climbing, the route descends around ten metres before beginning to climb again.
