Beware that even along the river, US 5 is must more hilly than you might expect. I rode a piece of the bike path towards Springfield, VT, but the map tool doesn't want to connect it crossing under I-91. But it does. Relax at Hoyts Landing; left after crossing the Connecticut from NH to VT.
