Montemonaco mit dem Fahrrad

There is sufficient space to park a car at the starting point of this route. The turn-off from the main SP86 is signposted for Gerosa where you park the car. The route is a gentle uphill ride all the way. A good warm-up route. The track beside the lake is good gravel and then you turn onto the asphalt to ride to Foce. There are cafes and restaurants at Foce. You can continue riding past the town onto a further gravel track to the start of the walk up to Lago di Pilato.  We did this route in April 2014, at this time the road to Foce was blocked. Obviously a common avalanche spot as there is an unlit tunnel at this point to get to the other side of the blockage. It isn't very long but lights/torch would make the experience pleasanter and would alert oncoming vehicles to your presence.
