Via Transilvanica (VT) starts in Bucovina, from Putna Monastery. This monastery was founded by Saint Voievode Stephen the Great and is also his resting place. Located in the north of the country, Bucovina is a bridge between Transylvania and Moldavia. This section of the route reveals picturesque areas with hills, meadows, and springs, plus historical monuments that are unique in the world. Bucovina is a challenge for travellers, but it is also a blessing in disguise, because once they have crossed its ridges, they are ready to complete our long-distance trail.
