Cycling tour 2009 July Lake Como

Together with Mildrid

Took the morning flight from Molde. Come to Como approx. 17. From Milan we had to change trains in Saronno .. All right. Found okay B & B. Communal wc / shower - bunk beds, but good breakfast. Great along the harbor and in the old town. Unconscious in the evening.

Bike to Bellagio. Great trip, and much up and down. Have lunch at the beachfront just before the city border - Mildrid bathed. Stayed at hotels on the outskirts of town where there was a wedding party in the evening. Bike to town in the evening. Great promenade along the pier and a great old town.

Bike to Olcio on the outskirts of Mandello del Lario. Another great bike day, but a couple of long (but bright) tunes just before Lecco. Beautiful beaches along Oliveto Lario to Lecco. Met many cyclists today. Lunch at the harbor in Lecco - Mildrid bath. Stopped in Mandello but did not get a room. Have ice cream and watch out for swimming in the city. Stayed at the nice B & B in Olcio, which we called from Mandello. Found no restaurants in Olcio, so there was cereal .. Mildrid bathed below the B & B. Heavy rainy weather in the evening. It rang at church bells all night. Three churches in the small town! Inge had to ride back to Mandello to withdraw cash.

Then drove to Dervio where there was a hint of industry .. Called and ordered room from campsite at the port. Lunch on the beach. Quiet place, but corps concert in the evening :-) Also had a stop in Varenna, where it was very nice at the harbor !! Got a Norwegian couple there.

Started the day cycling up to Sueglio and Vestreno. Lunch on the beach in Dervio. Dinner in the evening. Terrible lightning and thunder at night !! An open-air school sent out an emergency report, and 30 rivers and 3 teachers thrown in at. 3:30. They lay streams everywhere when we got up. But nice. The rain had ceased when we started. Rounded around Colico and Sorico - a little boring terrain. Lunch at Pianello del Lario. Stayed in Menaggio - great city! Bike to Como Lunch at Carate Urio - Bathing. Great lunch on a great day! Trashed around in Como in the evening. Great jazz concert at the hotel in the evening.
