A bike tour through the Valle de ViƱales (ViƱales valley) which received the UNESCO title āhumanityās cultural landscapeā thanks to its limestone rocks in 1999. One cycles past beautiful view points, jagged rocks, small huts and green plantations through rural Cuba.

Visit the Hemingway monument in Cojimar. The famous author had his usual seat in the bar āLa Terrazaā, which is still open today. The monument looks out on the harbour entrance, as this view inspired Hemingway to write his novel āThe old man and the seaā.

During the rainy season from May until October, the humidity after thunderstorms often rises up to 95% and cycling thus becomes accordingly exhausting. There is significantly less rain during the dry season and the average temperature drops to 25°C.

Mountainbike fans get their moneyās worth in East Cuba, the islandās most mountainous part. The Pico Turquino is Cubaās highest mountain (1.974m). During the guerilla fights, the rebel armyās general command was located at its base.
