Cycling day trip from Rajec to Žilina

This scenic cycling route takes you from the charming town of Rajec to the lively city of Žilina in northern Slovakia. You’ll cover about 27.5 kilometers, mixing in a nice bit of ascent and descent—enough to keep things interesting, but nothing too extreme.

The ride kicks off in Rajec, known for its beautiful town square and mineral springs, and quickly leads you out into the peaceful Slovak countryside. Most of the way is on quiet roads and tracks, with a majority of the surface paved or asphalt, though you’ll hit a few sections of gravel or unpaved tracks (nothing your average hybrid or trekking bike can’t handle).
