Cycling day trip from Dimaro to Riva del Garda

This seriously scenic cycling route kicks off in Dimaro, a charming Alpine town in Val di Sole—an area famed for its apple orchards and adventurous spirit. You’ll be winding your way south for about 135 km, crossing the heart of Trentino, to finish at the iconic lakeside town of Riva del Garda.

Expect a long ride with some epic elevation—over 2,300 meters of climbing (and even more descending!), peaking around 1,784 meters above sea level. The terrain is mostly smooth sailing: about 80% paved, with a good chunk on dedicated cycleways and quiet roads, though you’ll sample some rustic tracks and a few rough sections, so wider tires aren’t a bad idea.

Along the route, you’ll roll through lush valleys, pine forests, and past vineyard-clad hillsides before a glorious descent toward Lake Garda’s turquoise shores.
