Cycling day trip from Ljubljana to Bled

This scenic ride takes you from the lively heart of Ljubljana, Slovenia’s charming capital, all the way to the storybook lakeside town of Bled. Covering about 69 km, this route winds mostly along quiet roads and cycle paths, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the rolling countryside. Expect a bit of a workout—there’s over 1,100 meters of climbing, but the views of the Julian Alps and lush green valleys are totally worth the effort.

Ljubljana, with its relaxed riverside cafés and iconic castle, is a great place to start your adventure. As you pedal out of the city, the routes remain pleasantly peaceful. Along the way, you'll pass traditional Slovenian villages, shimmering rivers, and, if you’re lucky, fields of wildflowers in late spring.
