Cycling day trip from Karojba to Poreč

This ride takes you from the charming hilltop village of Karojba all the way down to the beautiful coastal town of Poreč—one of Istria’s gems. You’ll start off among rolling vineyards and olive groves, winding through mostly unpaved paths (expect a mix of gravel, earthen ground, and the occasional paved stretch). It’s a real off-the-beaten-track route, perfect for gravel bikes or sturdy hybrids.

You’ll gradually descend around 310 meters (with some nice downhill stretches!), passing through peaceful countryside and old Istrian hamlets. Keep an eye out for wildflowers and the distant shimmering Adriatic Sea as you get closer to the coast. Once in Poreč, you can reward yourself with a stroll through its UNESCO-listed old town and maybe a jump in the sea.

It’s a moderately challenging ride at 34 km, but mostly gentle terrain and very little car traffic. Don’t forget to stop for a local snack—you’re right in truffle country!
