Bikepacking from Riga to Tallinn

Ready for an epic ride between two Baltic capitals? This cycling journey takes you from Riga, Latvia’s vibrant metropolis on the Daugava River, all the way north to Tallinn, Estonia’s charming, medieval capital by the sea. Expect about 442 km of pedaling, with rolling terrain and plenty of fresh air—there’s around 1,650 meters of climbing, but maximum elevation stays under 120 meters, so nothing too mountainous.

The route is a patchwork of surfaces—mostly quiet backroads, a scattering of gravel and paths, and a good proportion of paved and asphalt stretches. Some sections go missing route details, so a sense of adventure (and maybe offline maps) will help! You’ll wind through lush forests, pass by the Gulf of Riga, and spot sleepy villages and wide-open farmland.
