By bicycle from Boise to Garden City

This is a quick and mostly easygoing ride between the heart of Boise and Garden City—perfect if you want to skip the car and enjoy some time outside. Starting in downtown Boise, right near the lively shops, cafes, and the green spaces of the city, you’ll roll mostly along paved cycleways (about 68% of your route!), making it super friendly for all experience levels.

The route stretches for a little over 4 km, with barely any climbing—nothing too strenuous, as you’ll mostly just cruise along with a gentle descent as you approach Garden City. Speaking of which, Garden City sits on the banks of the Boise River and is known for its funky breweries and art scene, plus easy river access.

Expect to ride on a good mix of concrete and asphalt surfaces, mostly separated from traffic, so it’s relaxed and safe. If you need a break, you’ll find green spaces and river views along the way. All in all, a sweet little connection between two laid-back Idaho communities!
